First Machine Learning Project: Clustering, Decision Trees, K-Means

On Wednesday, students presented their work on Iris data using either clustering, k-Means or decision trees. They needed to also include a visualization of their data.  This was their first "formal" presentation of the cluster. They implemented algorithms to have the machine make suggestions or predictions about data.  Students determined what features were relevant or more revelant that others and commented on any observations.  Their models took in data about irises and had to accurately predict which of three varieties of irises they were. Below are their presentations.

Congratulations to Faculty Choice Award winners Bisman and Sumedh, and People's Choice Award winner Emmy and Samarth.

The People's Choice Award is voted on by the students.  They select the project/presentation that they were most impressed with.  The Faculty Choice Award is voted on by our cluster's teaching staff (professors, cluster assistants and myself).  Students of the selected awarded projects will recieve a small prize.  Students are eligble to win again for future project presentations.  Both People's Choice and Faculty Choice awards will be given for topic challange projects.  Final project presentations will only have a Special Project Recogition Award.
